This is such a fun cocktail! A margarita made with orange juice, lime juice, and tequila. A blue curacao floater is put on top of the drink, and it's garnished with a maraschino cherry and lime wedge. This tequila cocktail was inspired by Marge Simpson (Marge-arita) and went perfectly with my Treehouse of Horror night to celebrate Halloween. Though this tropical cocktail is tasty year round!

Orange Juice Margarita with Blue Curacao Floater

Pretty, Tangy, and Tasty

I can't stop staring at this beautiful orange juice blue margarita. The bottom half of this mixed drink is made with freshly squeezed orange juice and lime juice.

Next we float on the booze. The top part is a combination of blue curacao and silver tequila. When mixed, it turns the gorgeous turquoise and tastes so good. Think a traditional margarita but with an orange twist added to it. I don't think I'll ever get tired of pretty blue curaçao cocktails!

This cocktail was made for my The Simpsons Treehouse of Horror movie night! This margarita can also be called the "marge-arita." Get it?? The margarita looks just like Marge! I garnished with maraschino cherries to resemble Marge's necklace. I paired this cocktail with a pink icing raspberry jelly-filled donut for the perfect Simpsons dinner and a movie.

✽ Orange Juice: The orange juice is the main component of this cocktail so for the best fresh flavor, use freshly squeezed orange juice. This cocktail is also really delicious when the orange juice is replaced with pineapple juice!

Lime Juice: The lime juice will add a bit of tartness to the drink so cut some of that sweetness of the juice. And same goes for the lime juice- freshly squeezed for best flavor!

✽ Blue Curacao Liqueur: Blue curaçao liqueur is an orange liqueur that is very similar to triple sec or grand marnier. I chose to use blue curacao instead of triple sec to get that beautiful blue floater on top.

✽ Silver Tequila: Tequila blanco is the popular choice for margaritas to give your cocktail a true agave flavor.

31 Days of Halloween

This delicious drink is a part of my 31 Days of Halloween. For each day in October, I come up with a cocktail recipe and snack recipe that perfectly matches a scary movie, Halloween movie, or a fun spooky activity. How to Make Orange Juice Margarita

➊ In a cocktail shaker, combine 4 ounces orange juice and 1 ounce lime juice. Add a couple ice cubes, and shake for about 10 seconds until chilled. Strain into a cocktail glass. Either a lowball (rocks glass) or highball glass works great for this blue curacao cocktail.

➋ In a separate glass, stir together 1 1/2 ounces silver tequila and 1 ounce blue curacao. Slowly pour tequila and blue curacao mixture over the back of a bar spoon on top of the orange and lime juice mixture so that it floats on top.

➌ Garnish with the glass with maraschino cherries and/or a lime slice or wedge. You could also garnish with an orange slice. Give the cocktail a quick stir right before enjoying to turn the entire cocktail into a green-blue hue. Cheers!

What to Serve with this Orange Margarita

Avocado Jalapeno Dip; A margarita paired with this avocado jalapeno dip is a perfect combination!

Guacamole; Margarita and guacamole belong together.

Raspberry Jelly-filled Donut; To stay with the Simpsons Treehouse of Horror theme, make these jelly-filled donuts topped with pink icing and sprinkles. With these two recipes, you'll have the best Simpsons movie night!
