Watermelon paleta shots or Mexican candy shots are full of sweet, tangy, and salty flavors. They taste very similar to those delicious watermelon Mexican candy suckers especially when the shot glasses are coated in Chamoy and Tajin. These pink shots are perfect for birthday parties and hot summer days!

Tangy, Salty, Savory, & Sweet Flavor

Paleta shots are like no other! They are packed full of so much flavor. Just be careful- they really are very addicting and will become your new favorite shot! A paleta shot is also know as a Mexican candy shot or a Mexican lollipop shot.

These pink watermelon shots are made with delicious watermelon pucker and tequila. My favorite part, however, is the Chamoy and Tajin shot glass rim. It really makes these shots taste just like actual Mexican candies and a Mexican-style popsicle. So good!

Mexican candy shots take no time to whip up making them the perfect choice to serve at parties of any kind- pool parties, Halloween parties, birthday parties, etc.

✽ Watermelon Pucker Schnapps: This watermelon schnapps is going to be your new favorite liqueur. It has big watermelon flavor, tastes just like a watermelon Jolly Rancher, and has both a sour and sweet taste. Watermelon liqueur is the perfect addition to make these shots taste just like actual candy. I use DeKuyper Watermelon Pucker Schnapps Liqueur to make these paleta shots.

✽ Silver Tequila: Tequila pairs really well with the fruity flavors and saltiness of the coated rim. I use silver tequila (blanco tequila, white tequila) for these shots. However, it doesn't matter too much what kind of tequila you use so grab your favorite tequila! If you are not a big tequila fan, you could substitute it with tamarind vodka.

✽ Hot Sauce: I like to put just a small dash of hot sauce in my paleta shots. The addition of hot sauce adds a bit of a kick and more savory flavor.

✽ Lime Juice: Lime juice adds in freshness and a bit more tang. Use fresh juice for the best flavor.

✽ Chamoy: Chamoy is a sweet and tangy sauce that has a slight kick.

✽ Tajin (Chili Lime Salt): Tajin is a seasoned salt with citrus flavor and is mildly spicy. It is made from red chiles, lime zest, and salt.
