✽ Silver Tequila: Usually white tea shots are made with vodka, but for this recipe we will be swapping out the vodka for some tequila. The tequila works so well with the tangy citrus and fruity peach schnapps.

✽ Peach Schnapps: In my opinion, the peach schnapps is the star of this shot. It brings in sweetness and that delicious peach flavor. Some good brands include Mr Stacks Peach Schnapps and DeKuyper Peachtree Schnapps.

✽ Sweet & Sour Mix: Sweet & Sour Mix is a combination of sugar, water, and citrus juices. Just as the name suggests, it has both a sour and sweet taste and makes for a great addition to many cocktails and shots. You can buy pre-made sweet and sour mix, or you can make it homemade. It is a simple syrup with both lemon and lime juices added.

✽ Lemon-Lime Soda: A final touch of lemon lime soda will make these shots extra sweet, citrusy, and bubbly.

✽ Lime Wedge: Lastly, the shot glasses are garnished with a lime wedge. A shot made with tequila needs a lime!

White Tea Shot with Tequila Recipe: Questions

✽ How do you make homemade sweet & sour mix?

You can always buy pre-made sweet & sour mix from the grocery store. However, homemade sour mix is also very simple to make too!

In a small saucepan, combine 1/2 cup sugar and 1/2 cup water. Heat mixture over medium heat, stirring frequently, until sugar dissolves. Remove from heat and stir in 1/2 cup fresh lemon juice and 1/4 cup fresh lime juice. Store covered in fridge for up to 2-3 weeks.

✽ How do you make a classic white tea shot?

A classic white tea shot is made the exact same as this recipe except the tequila is swapped out for plain vodka. It is usually garnished with a lemon or orange.

On the other hand, the classic green tea shot recipe is also made with equal parts of liquor but the vodka or tequila is replaced with Jameson Irish Whiskey.

✽ White Tea Cocktail

For a refreshing cocktail rather than a shot, simply add 3/4 ounce silver tequila (or your favorite vodka; or Jameson Whiskey for a Green Tea Cocktail), 3/4 ounce peach schnapps, and 3/4 ounce sweet & sour mix to a cocktail shaker with ice. Give it a good shake until chilled, about 10 seconds. Strain into a highball or tall glass filled with ice then top the glass off with lemon-lime soda. Garnish with a lime wedge.
