These cherry jello shots are perfect for anybody that loves chocolate-covered cherries. These tasty jello shots are made with cherry Jello, cherry vodka, and chocolate liqueur for an ultimate flavor bomb. They are especially good when the rim is coated in chocolate syrup and garnished with a cocktail cherry.
All the deliciousness of a chocolate-covered cherry inside of a Jello shot.
Calling all the people that have a hard time snacking on chocolate-covered fruit! These Jello shots were made for you. These cherry shots taste just like a chocolate-covered cherry made with both cherry and chocolate flavors.
When the Jello shots are dipped into some chocolate syrup and garnished with a cocktail cherry prior to serving, they are so fun and extra tasty. These shots are perfect for any type of party especially Valentine's Day!
Chocolate Covered Cherry Jello Shots: Ingredients

✽ Boiling Water: To ensure there are no clumps in the final product, boiling hot water is added to the gelatin powder. Sometimes I try to avoid using water in Jello shots since it can water them down a bit. However, these Jello shots have so much flavor from the gelatin powder and liquor that using a cup of water is perfectly fine!
✽ Cherry Gelatin Packet (Powder): This cherry Jell-O is so good and fan of anybody that loves cherries and cherry candy. It is especially good when it is combined with flavored alcohol!
For this recipe, I used Jell-O Cherry (3 oz box). If you are feeling creative, try a different Jello flavor for this recipe. Strawberry Jello would also be so delicious!
✽ Crème de Cacao (Chocolate Liqueur): Adding in creme de cacao will give us a nice and chocolatey flavor.
You could also use a chocolate liqueur such as Godiva Chocolate Liqueur and Mozart Dark Chocolate Liqueur as well.
✽ Cherry Vodka: By using cherry vodka, you get a lot more cherry flavor added to these shots and you don't end up with shots that taste like rubbing alcohol.
Some good brands include Smirnoff Cherry Vodka, Veil Cherry Vodka, Pinnacle Cherry Vodka, and UV Cherry Vodka.
✽ Chocolate Syrup: While completely optional, adding chocolate syrup or chocolate sauce to the shot glass really takes these shots to the next level. So good!
✽ Cocktail Cherries: Lastly, I like to garnish each shot with a cocktail cherry. It not only makes the shots super cute, but it tastes good as well. I used cocktail cherries, but you could also use the bright red maraschino cherries.
How to Make Chocolate Cherries Jell-O Shots
➊ Add 1 cup of boiling water to 3 ounces of cherry gelatin powder in a medium mixing bowl or large spouted measuring cup. Stir for about 2 minutes until all the gelatin dissolves.
➋ Whisk in 1/2 cup of creme de cacao and 1/2 cup cherry vodka (at room temperature). Stir well.
➌ Pour mixture into 2 ounce plastic shot glasses or plastic containers. You should get about 10 shots. I like to set all the plastic cups on a small baking sheet or cookie sheet so that it is easier to move them. Place the shots in the fridge for 3-4 hours or until set.
➍ Right before serving, dip the rim of each shot into some chocolate syrup or chocolate sauce and garnish with a cocktail cherry. Cheers!
Chocolate Covered Cherries Jello Shot Recipe: Questions
✽ Do I have to use cherry vodka?
Using cherry vodka in this recipe is going to eliminate the strong vodka (medicine-like) taste that some Jello shots have. It adds more cherry flavor which is nice.
If needed, you can substitute the cherry vodka with plain vodka. They will still taste good but won't be as cherry flavored.
✽ Can I put more alcohol in these jello shots?
I do not recommend adding more than a cup of liquor to the standard jello shot recipe. When you change how much alcohol you add, you run the risk of the jello shots not setting properly.
✽ Chocolate-Covered Strawberry Jello Shots- Recipe Variation
Do you like chocolate covered strawberries more than chocolate covered cherries? No worries! Another delicious way to make these shots is to swap out the cherry Jello with strawberry Jello and the cherry vodka for strawberry vodka.

Ingredients
• 1 cup water, boiling
• 3 ounces cherry gelatin powder

Instructions
