Caramel Apple Cocktail with Caramel Vodka

Caramel apple inside of a glass.

If you love caramel apples but hate making homemade caramel sauce or maybe you hate how the caramel gets stuck in your teeth, or maybe you just would rather drink your caramel apple than eat it for whatever reason, then this cocktail is for you.

This green cocktail tastes exactly like a candy caramel apple. It's sweet, a bit sour, and tangy. I can't get enough of that caramel apple flavor!

The caramel apple cocktail is perfect during fall, Halloween, and the holiday season.. or really any time of the year if you love caramel apples as much as I do..

✽ Caramel Vodka: If you want to make lots of fall cocktails this year, I recommend keeping regular caramel vodka in your cabinet. That caramel flavor is so tasty especially when paired with sour apple schnapps. Since so much of this cocktail's taste comes from the caramel vodka, it is key ingredient and cannot be switches out with regular vodka.

The best caramel vodkas include Smirnoff Kissed Caramel Vodka and Veil Caramel Vodka. Pinnacle Salted Caramel Vodka would also be good for a touch of salt.

✽ Sour Apple Schnapps: The first time I tried sour apple schnapps, I was obsessed. It is sour and sweet just like green apple candy.

I like Mr Stacks Sour Apple Schnapps and DeKuyper Sour Apple Pucker Liqueur.

✽ Apple Juice: A bit of apple juice added to this cocktail will bring in some sweetness which balances out the sourness and adds in more apple flavor.

✽ Lemon Juice: A bit of lemon juice will make this cocktail perfect. Lemon, apple, and caramel is a wonderful combination and the perfect mixture. Freshly squeezed lemon juice will get you the best tasting cocktail.

✽ Caramel Sauce: Dipping the cocktail glass into some caramel sauce takes this cocktail to the next level. You just can't beat that gooey goodness and buttery caramelized sugar flavor. You can make your own homemade caramel sauce or you can buy it premade. My favorite brands are Torani and Ghiradelli.

✽ Fresh Green Apple: A slice of a Granny Smith apple on the glass will taste great with the cocktail and look pretty too! You could also garnish with a caramel candy, if desired.
