Appletini Recipe

Green, Sour, Sweet, and Tangy

This delicious cocktail is perfect for all of you green apple lovers out there. Not only is this drink so tasty, it's also such a fun color!

I decided to make this cocktail with sour apple schnapps and green apple vodka for maximum green apple flavor. It's like a green apple explosion in your mouth.

This tasty easy cocktail was a part of Day 12 of 31 Days of Halloween when we watched The Haunted Mansion. This Halloween drink inspired by Madame Leota's bright green colored smoke. It's the perfect drink during that spooky time of year!

✽ Sour Apple Schnapps: If you like green apple flavor, you'll love sour apple liqueur (schnapps). It's so good, and I could definitely drink it straight. I always make sure to have some on-hand!

Two popular brands of sour green apple schnapps are Mr Stacks Sour Apple Schnapps and DeKuyper Sour Apple Pucker Liqueur.

✽ Green Apple Vodka: I chose green apple vodka for more green apple flavor, but you could also use plain vodka as well.

Delicious brands of green apple vodka is Ciroc Apple, Smirnoff Green Apple, Noble Wolf Green Apple Vodka, and Veil Green Apple Vodka. Also could use Kinky Green which as both green apple and pear flavors!

✽ Apple Juice: The sweetness of the apple juice cuts the sourness a bit and adds some more delicious apple flavor.

✽ Fresh Lemon Juice: Lemon pairs great with the apple for a perfect balance of flavors. Freshly squeezed lemon juice will always taste the best!

✽ Green Apple Slices: Granny Smith apple slices make for the perfect garnish.

Sour Apple Martini: Questions

✽ I can't find green apple flavored vodka. Help!

No worries! While it will slightly decrease the amount of green apple flavor, you can substitute plain vodka for the green apple vodka.

✽ What is schnapps?

Schnapps is a distilled spirit.

In America, schnapps are usually a mix of a neutral grain (usually wheat or rye) spirit with fruit syrup or spices. You can find so many different flavors of schnapps such as peach, peppermint, and butterscotch. They are usually pretty sweet, have a lower ABV, and used as a mixer.

In Europe, schnapps is spelled 'schnaps,' and it is used to describe any strong distilled spirit. It's usually used to describe fruit brandies, have a higher ABV, and enjoyed straight.

✽ Caramel Apple Martini

To turn this recipe into a caramel apple martini, simply replace the green apple vodka with caramel vodka. Everything else in the recipe stays the same. If you are feeling really fancy, dip the rim of the martini glasses into some caramel sauce before you garnish with a thin slice of green apple. It's so good!

31 Days of Halloween
