Was your favorite snowcone flavor Tiger's Blood? If so, then these bright red Jello shots will bring you a dose of nostalgia. They are made with strawberry gelatin, watermelon vodka, and coconut rum and taste just like the Tiger's Blood I remember- well, with booze this time, of course! These Jello shots are great for all types of parties and during the summertime. Also, you can give them a red corn syrup drip on the rim for a bloody treat during Halloween season.

Strawberry Watermelon Vodka Jello Shots

Tiger's Blood is the ultimate nostalgic treat.

I had two flavors that I always chose when at the snowcone stand as a child- wedding cake and tiger's blood. Growing up, I never knew what flavor tiger's blood was, and honestly I didn't really care. It was bright red sweet deliciousness that I never could get tired of. In fact, I still can't get enough of it even now as a grown adult.

I would never turn down a Tiger's Blood snowcone, and you won't ever catch me turning down these Tiger's Blood Jello shots either. These shots are a dose of boozy nostalgia that are now my go-to Jello shot.

The three main flavors that make up the mysterious tiger's blood are watermelon, strawberry, and coconut. The perfect combination of all the wonderful summer flavors. These shots are perfect for any type of party- especially a summer party while chilling by the pool.

However, they are also as a Halloween party treat too given their red color. Give them a bloody (red corn syrup) rim and get ready to be spooked!

✽ Strawberry Gelatin Powder: Strawberry Jello is arguably one of the best Jello flavors. By using a pre-flavored gelatin we can make these shots extra flavorful and extra tasty.

✽ Boiling Water: The boiling hot water helps ensure that the gelatin powder dissolves so there are no clumps in the final Jello shots.

✽ Watermelon Vodka: Watermelon vodka on its own is pretty good, but watermelon vodka in these shots is phenomenal. The watermelon and strawberry taste great together.

Popular brands include Ciroc Vodka Summer Watermelon, Absolut Watermelon, Veil Watermelon Vodka, Smirnoff Watermelon, and Western Son Watermelon Vodka.

✽ Coconut Rum: By using just a 1/4 cup of coconut rum, we are able to introduce a nice coconut flavor to these shots without it being overwhelming. It's the key component to making them taste just like a boozy Tiger's Blood snowcone.

Some of my favorite brands include Malibu Coconut Rum, Largo Bay Coconut Rum, Bacardi Coco Rum, Blue Chair Bay Coconut Rum, and Captain Morgan Coconut Rum.

✽ Strawberries: A small slice of strawberry makes for the perfect garnish for these gelatin shots. You could also use small watermelon slices as well!

➌ Pour the strawberry Jello mixture evenly into 10 2-ounce plastic cups. To make it easier to transport the shots, I like to place them all on a baking sheet or cookie sheet. Place the Jello shot cups in the fridge for 3-4 hours or until firm and set.

➍ Right before serving, garnish each shot with a small slice of strawberry. You can also garnish the shots with a small slice of fresh watermelon as well. Cheers!

Tiger's Blood Jello Shots: Questions

✽ What is Tiger's Blood?

Some say tiger's blood is a flavor that was invented back in the 1940s at a snowcone stand in Hawaii. Others say it was invented in the southern United States. It can now be found all over the world as one of the most popular snowcone flavors!

Don't fear- no actual tigers were harmed in the making of these snowcones. Tiger's blood flavor is a combination of watermelon, strawberry, and a bit of coconut.

Nobody really knows where the name, Tiger's Blood, came from. However, it was probably named because of its deep red color.

✽ Strawberry Vodka + Watermelon Jello

Another just as tasty way to make these Jello shots is to use strawberry vodka and watermelon gelatin. Make the shots exactly the same way just use 3/4 cup of strawberry vodka instead of watermelon vodka and 3 oz watermelon Jello instead of strawberry Jello. Keep the coconut rum the same at 1/4 cup!

Halloween Jello Shots Recipe

Halloween Jello Shot

Tiger's blood shots make for really great Halloween shots due to their 'blood-like' appearance!

A fun way to turn these into spooky shots is to give them a 'blood' rim. You can mix a a couple drops of red food coloring with a small amount of corny syrup. Then after the Jello shots have set, right before serving, dip the rims into the red-colored corn syrup. The corn syrup will begin to drip down the side of the plastic shot glasses or cups for a super scary treat!

Or if you are feeling really ambitious, you could make a homemade strawberry syrup to dip the shot glasses into.
