Sophisticated Cocktail turned into a Fun Jello Shot

Sidecars are one the cocktails that make me feel fancy when drinking them. Jello shots, on the other hand, are anything but fancy. However, that doesn't mean that both can coexist in this world. There is a time and place for both because they are both delicious.

This easy recipe only calls for flavors that are found in an actual sidecar- cognac, triple sec, and lemon. You just cannot go wrong with cognac paired with orange and lemon flavors. Some may say it is the perfect Jello shot combination! If you are feeling extra, take these shots to the next level with a sugar rim and lemon garnish.

Sidecar jello shots are a huge hit at summer parties, pool parties, or backyard bbqs!

✽ Lemon Gelatin Mix: This lemon jello will add sweetness and a huge pop of lemon flavor to these jello shots. This will replace the usual lemon juice in a classic sidecar recipe. For this recipe, I use one 3-ounce box of Lemon Jell-O.

✽ Water: Since we are using a gelatin mix which has a ton of flavor, we can use a cup of water for this recipe without sacrificing taste. Do not alter the amounts of water or alcohol used in this recipe- the Jello shots may not set properly!

✽ Cognac: Cognac is the star of this show. If needed, you can use any brandy instead of cognac for this shot recipe. The most popular brand of cognac is Hennessy.

✽ Orange Liqueur: The orange liqueur really works well with the cognac. It brings in just a small amount of fruity flavor that is oh so delicious. You can use Grand Marnier, Cointreau, Triple Sec, Curacao.

✽ Sugar: The sugar rim on the shot glasses really fun addition and makes the shots a bit more sweet.

✽ Lemon Wedge: Lastly, the final product is garnished with a lemon for a little more pizzazz and citrus flavor. You can also garnish with an orange slice.

➌ Pour jello mixture into 10 2-ounce jello shot cups. I like to place all of the shots onto a cookie sheet or baking sheet so it is easier to move them. Let shots chill in fridge until set, about 3-4 hours.
