If you love parties and pickle juice then you are going to love these pickle juice jello shots! These shots are filled with so much delicious pickle flavor and, of course, liquor. They are boozy, sour, and so good especially when served with a pickle slice and Tajin garnish. These jello shots are perfect for any type of party!
Calling all pickle fans!
If you are one of those people that likes to take a big gulp juice from the jar of pickles on a regular basis or you are a huge fan of the highly popular vodka pickle shot recipe then you need these pickle jello shots at your next party! These shots are super easy to make and you only need a handful of ingredients.
Be sure to keep reading below for all the different liquor variations of this shot. The pickle vodka combination is sure to be a huge hit at any party, weekend get-together, or celebration!
Pickle Jello Shot: Ingredients

✽ Dill Pickle Juice: Pickle brine is where all that delicious pickle flavor is going to be coming from so make sure you use your favorite pickle brand. I use Best Maid Dill Pickle Juice which you can find on Amazon or a few grocery stores. It comes in a gallon size so you are ready to make dozens of pickle juice shots!
✽ Unflavored Gelatin: In order to make sure the pickle juice was the star of the show, I used unflavored gelatin. For this recipe, I used one packet of Knox Unflavored Gelatin.
✽ Vodka: A good pickle shot has a one-to-one ratio of pickle juice to vodka. You can taste the vodka in this recipe so make sure you are using a good quality vodka. My favorite vodka is Tito's Vodka.
✽ Tajin Seasoning: The tanginess and slight spiciness of Tajin pairs so well with the pickle and vodka. I like to put Tajin on the rim of the shot glasses so you can lick some off with every bite of the jello shot.
✽ Pickle Slices: Lastly, I like to garnish each shot glass with a small pickle chip or wedge. This makes the shots extra fun, cute, and tasty!
How to Make Pickle Jello Shots
➊ In a medium mixing bowl or large measuring cup, pour in 1/4 cup dill pickle juice. Sprinkle 1 packet (~2 1/2 teaspoons) unflavored gelatin on top of the pickle juice. Let sit for about 5 minutes.
➋ In a small saucepan, place remaining 3/4 cup of pickle juice over medium-high heat. Just as soon as it begins boiling, remove from heat and whisk hot pickle juice into the set gelatin. Continue whisking until the gelatin is fully dissolved, about 1-2 minutes.
➌ Whisk in 1 cup vodka.
➍ Pour the jello mixture into 10 jello shot cups (2 oz cups). I like to place all of the shots on a cookie sheet or baking sheet so it is easier to carry them. Place into fridge to chill for about 3-4 hours, or until set.
➎ Right before serving, run a pickle slice along the shot glass rims, and then dip each shot into a small pile of Tajin so the rims of the shot glasses are coated. Garnish each shot with a pickle slice. Cheers!
Pickle Vodka Jello Shot Recipe: Questions
✽ What liquors taste best in pickle shots?
My go-to is plain vodka. However, there are many different liquors that pair well with pickles. Another popular choice is whiskey which is commonly used in classic pickleback shots. A pickleback shot is a shot of Jameson Irish Whiskey followed by a shot of pickle juice.
Tequila is also a really good choice as you can see in my pickle juice tequila shot. Gin would also be the perfect addition for gin lovers!
✽ Can I make these jello shots spicy?
The Tajin on the rim will add in a bit of spice, but you could also add in a couple dashes of hot sauce when adding in the vodka. Do not add more than a couple dashes or you run the risk of the jello shots not setting properly.
✽ Can I add more liquor to these shots?
I do not recommend adding more liquor than what the recipe calls for. By adjusting the liquid amounts, the jello shots may not firm up as they should.

Ingredients
• 1 cup dill pickle juice, divided
• 1 packet (~2 1/2 teaspoons) unflavored gelatin
• 1 cup vodka
• Tajin, for rim
• 10 pickle slices, garnish
Instructions
➊ In a medium bowl, sprinkle unflavored gelatin over 1/4 cup pickle juice. Let sit 5 minutes.
