Sweet, Nutty, and Boozy
Take your Friendsgiving or Thanksgiving gathering to the next level with these bourbon pecan pie Jello shots.
These little wiggly shots are filled up with all of the classic pecan pie ingredients and some booze- bourbon and vodka. They are then topped with brown Sugar ground pecans, whipped cream, and a pecan half.
So not only do they taste good, they will look good sitting on your table this year. Another great thing about them- they are super quick to whip up and then you can just throw them in the fridge until you're ready to party.

β½ Unflavored Gelatin Powder: I use unflavored gelatin powder so I can be in control of all the flavors and make these shots taste like actual pecan pie.
β½ Brown Sugar: Adds sweetness and a slight molasses flavor. Dark brown sugar will give more molasses flavor, but light brown sugar will work too.
β½ Dark Corn Syrup: Just like regular pecan pie, we are using dark corn syrup for flavor and sweetness. It also helps to reduce the amount of water needed so you end up with a more flavorful shot rather than watery shots. Nobody wants that!
β½ Vanilla Extract & Butter Extract: Adds flavors that help these Jello shots taste just like the real deal.
β½ Bourbon & Vodka: Bourbon and pecan pie go hand-in-hand. However, when using a full cup, it is a little overpowering. I like to do half bourbon and half vodka for a more balanced flavor.
β½ Ground Pecans + Brown Sugar: This topping on top of the shots makes them taste SO good.
β½ Toppings: Halved Pecans + Whipped Cream
How to Make Pecan Pie Jello Shots
β In a medium bowl, pour in 1/4 cup of room temperature water. Sprinkle on 2 envelopes (~2 tablespoons) unflavored gelatin powder. Set aside.
In a small saucepan, combine 1/2 cup water, 1/2 cup dark corn syrup, 1/4 cup packed brown sugar, 2 teaspoons vanilla extract, and 1/2 teaspoon butter extract. Place over medium-high heat, stirring occasionally, just until it begins to simmer. Remove from heat.
β Whisk the hot mixture into the hydrated gelatin. Continue whisking until all gelatin is dissolved and well combined, about 2 minutes. Whisk in 1/2 cup bourbon and 1/2 cup vodka.
β Pour into 10 2-ounce plastic shot glasses, and let chill in the fridge for 4 hours or until set.
β For the topping, you will need 1/4 cup of ground pecans. You could buy already ground pecans or crush them yourself. I like to use a mini food processor (*affiliate link) to make it easier. You could also put them in a plastic baggie and use something sturdy such as a rolling pin to crush them that way or chop them with a knife very finely.
In a small bowl, combine the ground pecans and 1 tablespoon of brown sugar. Top each of the shots with a spoonful of the brown sugar pecan mixture.
Lastly, top with each shot with whipped cream and a pecan half or more ground pecans. Cheers!
