Here's a shot for all of you bourbon whiskey lovers! This bourbon shot pairs delicious bourbon with citrus flavors giving you a strong, slightly sweet, and tangy shot. This shot is perfect for getting any type of party started!

Calling all bourbon lovers!

There are so many fruity, bright, and sweet shot recipes out there. I personally love them, but I also understand that they are not everybody's favorite. You don't ever really see too many bourbon shots, and I don't know why- they are just as delicious! Some people want strong and bold shots so that is exactly what I have made here.

If you love bourbon then you are sure to love these shots. This delicious shot pairs bourbon with orange, lemon, and lime flavors. It is just slightly sweet, a bit sour, and strong. It is so good!

In fact, this shot is so good that you could double or triple the recipe, pour it over large ice cubes, and have yourself a nice cocktail. I think it would be an especially delicious drink during cold weather or the holiday season.

Bourbon Sour Shots: Ingredients

✽ Bourbon: Bourbon is best thing about this shot so make sure you are using your favorite bourbon! I used Wild Turkey Bourbon when making my shots. You could also use rye whiskey for these shots if you prefer.

✽ Triple Sec: Bourbon and orange pair really well together and adds a subtle sweetness. I use Triple Sec for this recipe, but you can use any type of orange liqueur you have on hand such as Grand Marnier or Cointreau.

✽ Sweet & Sour Mix: Just as the name suggests, the sweet and sour mix adds both sour and sweet flavor. This mix is basically simple syrup mixed with citrus juices. You can buy premade mix from the grocery store or you can make it homemade.

✽ Cocktail Maraschino Cherries: The best way to finish this shot is with a fancy cocktail maraschino cherry. Plus the shot glasses are so cute with a cherry hanging from the side and the little bit of cherry juice that runs into the shot adds more flavor! You could also garnish with a lemon twist as well.

How to Make Bourbon Sour Shots

➊ In a cocktail shaker, combine 1/2 ounce bourbon, 1/2 ounce triple sec, and 1/2 ounce sweet & sour mix with a few ice cubes. Shake until chilled, about 10 seconds.

*To Make Homemade Sweet & Sour Mix: In a small saucepan, heat 1/2 cup water and 1/2 cup sugar over medium heat, stirring frequently, until sugar is completely dissolved. Remove from heat, and stir in 1/2 cup fresh lemon juice and 1/4 cup fresh lime juice. Store covered in fridge for up to 2-3 weeks.

➋ Strain mixture into a shot glass, and garnish the shot glass with a cocktail cherry. Cheers!

Ingredients

• 1/2 ounce bourbon
• 1/2 ounce triple sec
• 1/2 ounce sweet & sour mix
• 1 cocktail cherry

Instructions

➊ In a cocktail shaker, combine bourbon, triple sec, and sweet & sour mix with a few ice cubes. Shake until chilled, about 10 seconds.
➋ Strain into shot glass, and garnish glass with a cocktail cherry. Cheers!
