This gin cocktail is a spin on the classic white lady cocktail. The gin, triple sec, and lemon juice is combined with a homemade spiced simple syrup. This simple syrup recipe is perfect to have on hand to make those fall cocktails. It is all shaken with an egg white to get the smooth texture and foamy top. For a Halloween cocktail, add a lemon peel ghost to the rim of the cocktail glass.

Ingredients

For Spiced Simple Syrup:

• 1/2 cup sugar
• 1/2 cup water
• 2 2" long x 1/4" thick pieces of ginger
• 2 whole cloves, crushed
• 1 cinnamon stick
• 1/4 teaspoon freshly grated nutmeg

For Cocktail:

• 1 1/2 ounces gin
• 3/4 ounce triple sec
• 3/4 ounce lemon juice
• 1/4 ounce spiced simple syrup
• 3 dashes bitters
• 1 egg white

Instructions

Make the spiced simple syrup: In a small saucepan, combine sugar and water. Place over medium heat, stirring constantly, until sugar dissolves. Remove from heat, and add in ginger, cloves, cinnamon stick, and nutmeg. Let cool and soak for at least 15 minutes. *The longer it sits, the more flavorful it will be.* Strain when ready to use.
Make the cocktail: In a cocktail shaker, combine all the ingredients for the cocktail. Shake without ice for about 10 seconds. Add in a couple ice cubes, and shake again for about 10 more seconds until chilled.
➌ Double strain into a cocktail glass, and garnish with a lemon ghost, if desired.
