One of my favorite holiday flavors is mulled wine, but a big pot of hot mulled wine can be a pain to bring to your holiday or Christmas party. So why not make mulled wine Jello shots that are just as delicious instead! These Jello shots are filled with all the same tasty spices and wine as actual mulled wine. The perfect winter treat!

Ingredients

• 1/2 cup orange juice
• 2 envelopes unflavored gelatin powder
• 1 cup red wine, divided
• 1/4 cup cranberries, halved
• 3 tablespoons honey
• 1 tablespoon lemon juice
• 1 cinnamon stick
• 1 star anise
• 1 whole clove, crushed
• 1 small slice fresh ginger
• 1/4 teaspoon grated nutmeg
• 1/2 cup triple sec
• 1/2 cup brandy
Candied ginger + grated nutmeg, for garnish

Instructions

➊ In a medium bowl, sprinkle unflavored gelatin powder on top of 1/2 cup of cold orange juice. Set aside.
➋ Meanwhile, in a medium saucepan, combine 1/4 cup red wine, fresh cranberries, honey, lemon juice, cinnamon stick, star anise, clove, ginger, and nutmeg. Mix well, and place over medium heat until simmering. Lower heat to medium-low and continue to slowly simmer for 5-10 minutes. Add in 3/4 cup red wine, and heat just until simmering.
➌ Strain warm red wine mixture into the bowl of orange juice and gelatin. Whisk until well combined.
➍ Whisk in triple sec and brandy.
➎ Pour mixture into 2-ounce plastic shot cups, and chill in fridge for 3-4 hours or until set.
➏ Top with grated nutmeg, and garnish with candied ginger.
