Delicious vanilla or almond bark dipped strawberries that are dipped in a simple homemade black cherry sauce. The cherry, strawberry, and vanilla flavors are so tasty together. Splatter on the cherry sauce for a spooky Halloween treat and Scream movie night snack.

Ingredients

• 1 cup frozen dark sweet cherries
• 1/2 teaspoon sugar
• 8 ounces vanilla candy coating (almond bark)
• 1 pound whole strawberries

Instructions

➊ Thaw the frozen cherries in the microwave for 2 minutes at 30% power. You can also leave out at room temperature for about an hour to thaw.
➋ Force the thawed cherries through a sieve into a bowl using a wooden spoon (your spoon may stain red) until you get about 1/2 cup of juice. Whisk in the sugar.
➌ Pour the mixture into a small saucepan and cook over medium-high heat until it begins to simmer. Reduce heat to medium-low and let simmer for 8-10 minutes until thickened. Remove from heat and let cool completely.
➍ Melt the vanilla candy coating according to package directions. *Microwave on low setting in 30-second intervals, stirring in-between intervals, until melted*
➎ Line a baking sheet with wax paper. Dip strawberries into melted candy coating and place on wax paper-lined baking sheet. Place in fridge until candy coating is hardened.
➏ Dip candy coated strawberries in the cooled cherry sauce. I like to dip some of the strawberries and splatter the rest. I use a silicone pastry brush into the sauce and flick the sauce of the strawberries for a splattered look.
